A message from our chairman:

I am very disappointed to be sharing the decision to CANCEL the event on Sunday. CABO23 is an event for the wider amateur radio community and as such relies on both feedback and more importantly participants.
Sadly, on both counts, we are lacking to the point of making this decision. Our member base is large, the community in Cornwall is very well populated, especially for a hobby such as amateur radio. We must support the community or events and activities will not continue!
I cannot thank Roy at PJ BOX for his sponsorship and support of this event and ROC in general. Some fabulous prizes were put up but again, not enough interest. Thanks to the committee for their work also. We shall arrange a social "Bring, buy & say hi" in the coming weeks.

Original CABO23 (Cornwall Antenna Build Off) Information

Antenna Build Off competition and bring and buy sales.

Roy (PJ Box) has donated some fabulous prizes and along with some existing ROC merchandise and equipment, we will have a number of prizes for those entering and placing at this year's event.

Prizes include, but are not limited to:

  • Dynascan DB 65 Amateur Dual Band Handset VHF UHF - 2m 70cm
  • Hoxin SG-7200 DUAL-BAND MOBILE ANTENNA 2m 70cm
  • Yihua 926 Led Adjustable Digital Display Electric Soldering Iron Station
  • 50m roll of RG58 mil-spec coaxial cable
  • 10A switch mode 13.8v PSU

We are also putting together a bumper raffle to be drawn at CABO23. Keep an eye on the website and our social media for prize updates.

Open to all. Free to attend and free parking. On-site toilets.
Bring and buy is limited so please book in advance. £5 per pitch, all money raised will go towards the costs of the event.

All entries to be entirely homebrew with the exception of a standard SO239/PL259 socket to fit the test station coax.
Submissions will either require a suitable method of mounting to a RACAL pu8 stub mast (32mm dia) or provide their own independent mast/support NO higher than 8m, signal testing will be at a height of 8m.

Judging details, loop-off details and scoring are to be announced soon!
