Martin M0XVN gave some informative hints and tips as well as practical demonstrations of basic and SMD (Surface-Mount Device) soldering techniques, not to mention the great advice on materials and equipment to avoid and to make sure you have to hand.

Soldering of devices using Surface-Mount Technology (SMT) is often viewed as being beyond the capabilities of many radio amateurs, so Martin’s insights on practical ways of doing so from his many years of experience were very much appreciated.

Ian 2E0GYR provided the venue at Sew and Fabric and as always, was the perfect host with snacks and drinks available to all.
